The table and benches open into a real place to sit, eat, and talk. When the space needs to clear, the piece folds back toward the wall instead of taking over the patio.

Foot-release detail

The foot release makes fold-away fast.

Michael tips the bench forward, unlatches the release with his foot, and the bench folds upright in a few seconds. It is a small detail that shows how thoughtfully the piece is made for everyday use.
